Brewing news Angola: EKA Brewer intends to invests US$30 million in modernization and capacities increase

Angolan brewer EKA located at Cambambe district, northern Kwanza-Norte province, will invest from next December USD 30 million in works of increasing and modernising the factory, Angola Press released November 08.

According to the company`s manufacturing director, Mateus Isabel Matumona, the referred amount will be used in the purchase of high-technology equipment, already ordered from Germany, Belgium and France.

He said that the repairing of old equipment, installing of new filling line, which includes the use of disposable bottles and computerisation of some production systems, are part of the tasks to be executed.

Mateus Matumona guaranteed that the project will achieve 455,000 hl of beer/months, surpassing the current 185,000 hl, as well as the creation of 30 new work posts.

EKA brewer is run by the French Group Brassier International Holding" (BIH), has 46 percent of the shares, the Angolan State holds four percent and 50 percent belongs to national private investors.
